Join the crew

There are countless whistleblower stories in business and government that go ignored or under-reported, and when their stories do make it into the 24-hour news cycle, there rarely is the kind of follow-up reporting necessary for the public to fully understand the gravity of cases or the sacrifices made to inform the public.

Subscribe to this newsletter, and help us promote whistleblowing as a human right.

FAQ

How can I read a subscriber update?

You can read a subscriber-only update in email or on the website. If you click through from your email you will be automatically logged in. If you come to the website separately, you can log in through the Membership page.

What do I get when I subscribe?

You’ll receive one free edition of the newsletter and then 1-2 exclusive editions of the newsletter each week. They will be a combination of blog-style posts, original reporting, and investigative journalism, with reporter notes and source material shared every so often.

What happened to the Shadowproof newsletter?

All editions of the paid Shadowproof newsletter, Keeping the Issues Alive, which were sent out between 2018 and 2020, were archived. They are accessible to subscribers of The Dissenter.

The Shadowproof newsletter was shut down so Shadowproof managing editor Kevin Gosztola could launch a much more focused newsletter related to a beat he has covered for the past ten years.

Can I forward emails for paid subscribers?

There is no penalty for forwarding editions for paid subscribers but know that some of the funds raised through this newsletter go toward Shadowproof’s freelance journalism budget. Every forwarded email represents another few dollars a starving or struggling journalist won’t receive to help them keep up their work.
